Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank chose London-based cake designer Sophie Cabot to make their wedding cake – and the final result is quite simply beautiful.
In what is the second royal wedding of the year, Eugenie and Jack tied the knot on Friday 12th October at St George's Chapel in Windsor Castle; the same venue where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle got married.
As one of the centrepieces for the day, Sophie made a red velvet and chocolate cake, described as 'traditional' with a 'modern feel'. The cake incorporates 'the rich colours of autumn in its design' and is covered with detailed sugar work including ivy; which is a nod to the couple's Ivy Cottage home in the grounds of Kensington Palace.

Eugenie and Jack were said to be 'delighted' that Sophie could be involved in the celebrations for their special day, and these pictures show that the final cake design is truly spectacular.
The cake perfectly complements the glorious autumnal flower display by floral designer Rob Van Helden, who worked closely with Eugenie on the roses, spray roses, hydrangeas, dahlias and berries that adorned the chapel.
Sophie actually came to the attention of the couple through her involvement with Princess Eugenie's father, Prince Andrew The Duke of York's Pitch@Palace programme, where she supplied specially decorated bespoke biscuits.

Originally a costume designer, Sophie started her bespoke cake design business in 2014 having grown up with a love of baking and learning her skills from her grandmother and mother. Sophie's artistic skills and flair come through in her creations, with a particular love for making sugar-flowers and using her hand-painting skills to create unique cakes.
'I am incredibly excited to be given this wonderful opportunity to create such a special and unique cake,' cake designer Sophie had said ahead of the wedding. 'It has been lovely working with Princess Eugenie and Jack and I really hope they enjoy the cake on the day.'

Elsewhere, The Royal Collection Trust released the couple's official wedding china earlier this month with each item featuring a monogram surmounted by the coronet of Princess Eugenie, alongside the couple's entwined monogram.
The memorabilia has been decorated with garlands of ivy; again chosen to represent the couple's home. The green leaves are featured alongside English wild bluebells, forget-me-nots and the white rose of York.
